Open Stage
Sign up as a volunteer!
Volunteers are needed for ticket sales, product sales, workshop assistants, photographers, building the African Market (setting up tents, etc.), security stewarding the market and other tasks during the festival. You can also volunteer to help with the preparations for the festival. You don’t need to have previous experience – enthusiasm and positive attitude will take you far!
Fest Afrika assistants will receive one free ticket to either a festival concert or a workshop for one day/night’s work (6h). Volunteers can also get a certificate of their volunteer work if they need one.
Based on the information you provide, the volunteer coordinator will contact you by phone and/or email regarding your volunteer work.

Be part of the African Market!
Sell your products or present your association and be part of the African Market!
African Market is a free event for the whole family. It will take place on Saturday 1 August from 11 am to 6 pm at the yard of Nekalab cultural centre (Lounaantie 2, Tampere). In addition to vendors and associations, there will be open stage for performances and activities for children, youth and adults.

Come to perform at the Fest Afrika market place!
The Festival Market will take place on Saturday 1 August at the yard of Cultural Centre Nekalab at 11-18. There will be different program, associations and of course lots of wonderful African products and good food.
You are welcome to showcase one of your special skills at the market, e.g. African dancing, singing, rapping, poetry etc. Performance can last from few minutes to about fifteen minutes. If you need instruments, please bring them with you.
